The Bulldog wrestlers had a successful night last Thursday, January 8^th 2015. They took on Chadron at home ending with a team score of 43 to Chadron 27. Starting off the night with two Junior Varsity wrestlers, Travis Rebillet and Truen Henderson both pinning their opponents. Varsity started at 160 pounds with Danny Vallejo losing to Tate Cullers 3 to 7. Bryant Wilson was next at 170 pounds winning 9 to 2 against Curtis McMann. Matt Pachak got pinned by, 182 pound Willy Cogdill. Next, Chadron had an open weight for the match 195 pounds giving Alliance 6 points and a win to Brent Thomas. At 220 pounds, Chris Wright got pinned by Tanner Kickland. For the heavy weight Jacob Baldwin pinned Theo Marcy. Jorgen Johnson pinned Daniel Goings in double over time of the 106 pounds match. Chadron had an open at 113 pounds giving Ross Dunn a win and 6 points. At 126 pounds Lane Applegarth got pined by Joe Ritzen. Dj Weare, 138 pounds, pined Xaiver Goings. Next at 145 pounds Walker Johnson won his match 16 to 1 over Brandon Walczyk. Manny Cabello won the final match of the night, 152 pounds, 19 to 3 against Trevyn Waldron. I asked Baldwin what his three favorite things about wrestling were. He responded“ Bus rides, Bonding time, and tournaments.”
