State Tennis 2014

On October 15, 2014, Alliance High School sent two seniors, Brian Gould and Chase Thompson, two juniors, Michael Gomez and Anthony Hare, and two sophomores, Trajan Garcia and Richie Toedtli to Lincoln for the State Tennis Tournament. They left early Wednesday morning getting ready for the next few days to come.

On Thursday the matches began. Brian Gould played in the #1 singles bracket winning his first match against Kaden Sitzman form McCook. The scores ended up being 6-3 first set 4-6 second set, taking the match into a third set witch ended 7-6. Brian then moved on but lost his next match to Jacob Weber form Gretna. The score was 6-1 in the first set and 6-0 in the second set. Chase Thompson played in the #2 singles bracket losing 7-5 in the first set and 7-5 in the second set playing Skyler Cappel from McCook. In the #1 doubles bracket, Michael Gomes and Antony won their first match against Ryan Niederle and Noah Rheinhelmer from Omaha Roncall Catholic. The score was 6-0 for the first set, and 7-6 in the second set. The boys then played against Elkhorn South losing 0-6 for the first set and 0-6 in the second set. Then the last bracket was #2 doubles where Trajan Garcia and Richie Todtli played together losing to Ralston 4-6 in the first set and 0-6 in the second. The team as a whole scored 8 points and placed 16th.
