Alliance Hosts Red Cloud
On Saturday, January 17, the Alliance Bulldogs played the Red Cloud Crusaders at home. The Lady Bulldogs trailed at the half, 16-31, and fell 38-60 at the end. At half of the boys, the Bulldogs trailed 30-37, and fell 64-72 at the end. Jordan Mills ended the game with a double-double, scoring 31 points with 14 rebounds. When asked about the basketball games Friday and Saturday, boys head coach, Roger Trennepohl said, “Both games this weekend were tremendous for a fan of basketball. All teams involved really played the game with passion and heart. I’d like to say how very thankful the coaching staff and the players are for the support of their efforts. The student body, “Dawg Pound”, is a special atmosphere and they are the 6th man for us at home. It really is an exciting place to play with the pep band right in there with the Dawg Pound.” When asked about the game against Red Cloud, Coach Trennepohl said, “What a great game to watch. On our end we did not play as good of defense as we need to against a team like Red Cloud that has so much outside fire power. Even though they hit 16/24 from behind the arc, many of those were defended. Where we struggled was giving them second opportunities because we were not focused on blocking out and getting defensive rebounds. We did win the rebound stat for the night but we have to be better at that part of our team game.”
