Super Bowl 50

Last Sunday, February 7 was Super Bowl Sunday. Super Bowl 50 was held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Kick off started at 4:30 pm between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos.

Before the fight between the Panthers and the Broncos began, Lady Gaga had a mouth dropping performance of the National Anthem. Many think of Lady Gaga in her many questionable outfits singing her unusual songs but the Lady Gaga that everyone saw on February 7 was an eye opener. She came out in a sparkly red suit with patriotic shoes and wowed the crowd singing the National Anthem with her beautiful voice. Singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl was “a total dream come true” said Lady Gaga to one of the NFL’s interviewers, Nate Burleson.

The game started and the fight was officially on. As fans at the game cheered and watched the game others at home did the same, all while laughing at the goofy super bowl commercials. This year a lot of companies released their commercials prior to Super Bowl 50 to get their ad out faster than other companies. Everyone knows that Super Bowl commercials are one of the many highlights of watching the game. This year many people found the commercials to be awkward. Bryant Wilson said, “my favorite commercial was Mountain Dews Kickstart #puppymonkeybaby commercial because it was different.”

For the halftime performance the performer’s goal was to send the message “believe in love.” Coldplay, Bruno Mars, and Beyoncé also honored many of the past halftime performances. A video of multiple performances played as Coldplay sang a mash up of “Yellow” and “Viva La Vida.” Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay then took a turn and sang some of the songs from the bands newest album “Adventure of a Lifetime” and “A Head Full of Dreams” which transitioned into Bruno Mars and his dance crew, who killed it on stage to “Uptown Funk”. Next Beyoncé performed “Formation” on the field with her group of dancers moving up onto the stage for a dance off with Bruno Mars to a remix of “Uptown Funk” and “Single Ladies.”

Finally the game was back in action. As the clock ran out both teams fought for the winning of the Super Bowl title but after all the singing, dancing, and playing the Broncos got the win with a final score of 24 – 10.
