NSAA State Journalism Competition
On Monday, April 28, three members of the Alliance High School Journalism class traveled to Norfolk, Nebraska for the NSAA State Journalism Competition. Senior Brian Gould competed in Column Writing and placed seventh. McKenna Romick, a sophomore, placed in eighth in Sports Feature Writing, while sophomore Sophia Sanchez placed fifth in Entertainment Writing.
This was the first year NSAA has hosted the competition. In past years, the Nebraska High School Press Association ran the championships. This year, there were several technical difficulties, resulting in awards taking much longer than expected and many annoyed competitors.
