Perfect score recipiants; Alexis Garrett, Emily Green, Bethany Baker, and Aydin Mak

District music took place this year on April 22, 2015, in Chadron. Alliance High School took both the band and the three choirs as well as a handful of solos, duets, and small groups.

The AHS band received ones from all three judges. The AHS jazz band also received three ones. Both bands got a superior rating. Four soloists received perfect scores at competition. Emily Green on trumpet, Aydin Mak on trumpet, Alexis Garret on the marimba, and Bethany Baker on the trombone. Christa Horn, David Beckett, Betsy Goodell, Jake McCaffery, and William Grant received a superior rating for their instrumental solos. Peyton Stoike, Aaliyah Dunn, and Adrianna Boyles received excellent ratings for their instrumental solos.

The Harmonics show choir received ones from all three judges as did the Velocity show choir. The Alliance mixed choir received a one and two twos from the judges. They received an excellent rating. Aaliyah Dunn, Bethany Baker, Collin Cox, and McKenna Sullivan received a superior rating on their vocal solos. Christa Horn received an excellent rating on their vocal solos. The duets of Trajan Garcia and Shari Lisa Shoeber; Monique Wing and Jordan Mak; Sheyenne Weaver and David Beckett; Alex Hinojosa and his sister Thalia Hinojosa; Andrew Ochoa and Jazlyn Garza; and Kiara Long and Brittany Dunkel, all received an excellent rating. Cherokee Purviance, Grace Tolstedt, and Caitlynn Henderson received an excellent rating on their trio. The trio of Bailey Alwin, Hannah Ross, and Breana Prochazka received a good rating. The girls select vocal group received an excellent rating.

Overall it was a successful day for the Alliance music programs.
