Continuing a New Tradition

Last year, Alliance High School students had many privileges taken away from them due to COVID-19. Not only were they not able to experience the normal activities that many seniors would experience, they did not get to attend a normal graduation ceremony as well. Many people were upset because of this, and the community members of Alliance came together to give the seniors a special surprise. They decided to have a Cruise The Butte dedicated solely to the 2020 senior class. Many thought this was a very special and memorable experience. Since COVID-19 has died down since then, many did not know if we would be having a Cruise The Butte for the seniors this year. They finally announced on Facebook a few weeks ago that there would be a Cruise The Butte being held for the 2021 senior class!

This year’s Cruise The Butte will be held Saturday, May 8 at 10:00 in the morning. I know that many seniors, including myself, are looking forward to sharing this day with their fellow classmates. People from the community are encouraged to come take pictures, give gifts and congratulate the graduating 2021 seniors. I know this will be very special to each member of the senior class, because we did not get to have our perfect senior year either. COVID-19 still put a dent in many plans that we had for the 2020-2021 school year, but we have all done our best to make the most of it. We are all looking forward to graduation day and the many exciting events leading up to it.

I am so grateful for the amazing community members, school staff and parents that have been so generous allowing another memorable Cruise The Butte to happen. We are starting a new tradition that will hopefully continue for many years to come! I know that the senior class is very appreciative for all that everyone has done to make our senior year just as memorable as those that were before the pandemic. We are all looking forward to the cruise and the graduation ceremony the following day. We will be finishing our memorable senior year with style!
