With two D1 recruits and several returning players, the Alliance Volleyball team is looking forward to a promising season. State has been something that has escaped them for the past three years, they are hoping to change that fate.

“We have a good shot at state, we have great team chemistry and the girls understand it takes everyone. I have high expectations for the girls, they work hard everyday,” stated Coach Kaiser. She also mentioned, “Having two D1 recruits is very exciting, it’s never happened at AHS. It’s a pretty cool opportunity to coach them. It also doesn’t affect anything team-wise having two D1 recruits, I expect the same from them as I would anyone else,” stated Coach Kaiser.

The Bulldog’s season started Thursday, August 23rd. With the advantage of having a season opener at home, the Bulldog’s overcame Gering : 25-20, 25-22, and 25-18.

Emerson Cyza, a senior on the volleyball team, stated “Every year we have the same goals; winning the Pilfold tournament, beating Sidney and winning the district championship which takes us to Lincoln. Knowing that this is my last season, I want to show everyone what we are capable of. I know every single girl on this court has the same goals as I do which makes this season better than ever.”

Ryley Rolls, a senior on the volleyball team, stated “My goals for my senior year, and I think for the team, are to win districts and also get to compete at state. We’ve worked really hard so far and will continue to work that hard so we can compete at state. I feel really great about this season already. I think everyone is starting to crawl out of their shells on the court and it’s really bringing out the best not only in ourselves but in each other.”

Everyone has high hopes for the Bulldogs this season, and feel they will have a very good season ahead. The girls have shown tremendous changes in teamwork, communication and always keeping a good attitude. If they keep up the hard-work and dedication, they could definitely have a chance at going to state.

The lady bulldogs have a tough schedule ahead, they will face Sterling on September 6, and Sidney on September 13. Coach Kaiser would also like to say thank you to everyone for their continuous support! Good luck to the 2018 Alliance Volleyball team on their upcoming season!
