Students Travel to Doane Honor Band
On December 12, 2014, seven students from Alliance High School went to participate in the Doane Honor Band. This particular honor band has been going on for seven years, hosted in Gering. Alliance was one of the eighteen schools who participated. The seven Alliance students who attended were Sariah Grant (french horn), Alexis Garrett (bells), Brendan Coward (drums), Aydin Mak (trumpet), Loyde Lewis (trombone), Jazlyn Hausmen (clarinet), and Erica Escamilla (clarinet).
The students that were chosen played for six hours practicing on and off taking breaks and learning the music. They played four pieces under the direction of Jay W. Gilbert, the Doane music conductor. The band played “Flourish for Wind Band”, “Prospect”, “Little Suite for Band”, and “Genius March”.
