Alliance High Holds a Blood Drive
On Wednesday, November 19, Alliance High School held a blood drive for the students. They have a good turnout every year that they don’t have time for any outside people to donate blood. On Wednesday, there were two donors from the community. There were thirty-five people who donated with a total of forty-four units of blood. To donate blood a person must be sixteen or older, but sixteen year olds have to have parental permission in order to donate. The blood that is donated at the blood drive goes to the United States Blood Services. If the hospitals in our area run low on blood, they will get the blood from United Blood Services. Allison Mcbride said, “We have done the blood drive twice a year since 2007.” If you want to donate blood you can schedule an appointment on the United Blood Services website.
