Sheyenne Weaver Singing At The NFR
Sheyenne Weaver, a sophomore at Alliance High School, learned of great opportunity to showcase her voice at the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). A competition was held where singers sent in videos of themselves singing the National Anthem. It took Sheyenne five times to get the perfect video to send in. She then put her video on Facebook and You-Tube for the judges to see. “ I decide to sing because I wanted to see if I could win, and it would also be a great opportunity,” said Weaver.
Sheyenne was entered into the Youth Category along with thousands of others. She found out that she made the top 3 in the Youth Category on September 24. Then it was in the voters hands whether or not Sheyenne would win. The voting for the second round began on September 26 and ended October 5.
On October 6, Sheyenne was practicing for softball since they were going to districts the next day. Her mom, dad, and sister came to practice, and they had come bearing good news. Sheyenne won in her category and will be going to Las Vegas in the month of December to sing at the National Finals Rodeo. She said, “I was speechless. I was paralyzed from all of the excitement. I think this experience will boost my confidence and open up new doors for more opportunites.”
