The Alliance High School holds a DMC (District Music Contest) every year. Ranging in band, choir, trios, solos, sextets, and many more performances. Schools all over the Panhandle come together to perform music they have been working on since December. Such as Bayard, Chadron, Garden County, and tons of other schools that attend Alliance. Judges from all over such as places like Colorado take time out of their day to come down and listen to everyone’s performance; 1 being the best of the best and 5 being…well you know the rest.
As the day kept running along I had the opportunity to listen to some amazing bands, like Chadron and Hay Springs! I interviewed some students from Hay Springs, and they stated “ I was nervous to perform but performing in Alliance was so different than back at home, different people, and a different setting.” The day kept pushing through and many great performances were shown to the public. With many schools receiving straight ones, and solos doing exceptional! I interviewed Dr. Kloch about how she felt DMC went, “I feel like we run DMC really well I feel like when people come the judges always compliment us and always like coming here, their needs are always met and they say we treat them exceptionally well.” The day grew longer and many more bands went on with their day. As a result everyone did absolutely amazing… I can not wait to see what DMC has in store next year!
