Pep Band Season

The long-awaited basketball season is back, which also means that pep band season is coming up. After a difficult and rewarding marching season, the band has now transitioned into my absolute favorite part of band, concert and pep band.

From “Seven Nation Army” to “Notre Dame Victory March, our pep band really strives to lighten up the atmosphere of the basketball games and pump everyone up.

“The pep band definitely provides a different atmosphere and I love it. It gives me butterflies and gets me so excited for the game. Without the pep band, it always feels like something’s missing. I love having the pep band and I really appreciate everything they do for us!” Marque Crowe, a senior girls varsity basketball player, said.

Being apart of band builds character, friendships, trust, and many other great things. I have learned so much from Mr. Heide, and everyone involved in the class. Our band loves to show everyone what we can do and share some of our excitement with the crowd. “Pep is the best part about band. The music is modern and that’s what makes it fun because it’s so energetic.” Izzy Middleton, a sophomore snare player, stated.

We also really appreciate the feedback and support that everyone gives to us because it really fuels our excitement and energy to know that we are making others happy and excited for the game.

“It provides a different atmosphere, it makes it louder, makes it like there are more people there, and gets you in the mood for a game.” Owen Shelmadine, a senior boys varsity basketball player, said.

It is such a great feeling to be apart of something so amazing and I can’t wait for this season ahead.
