Mrs. Amy Thacker is the happily married mother of three boys. She grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and attended high school at Shawnee Mission West. After high school Mrs. Thacker went to college at Bakery University in Baldwin City, Kansas. There she got her degree in Psychology and Adolescent Counseling. She also has a degree in Cross-Categorical Special Education.

Before coming to Alliance High School Mrs. Thacker taught kindergarten through third grade in Phoenix, Arizona. She was also a preschool teacher in Missouri but eventually moved to Alliance to be with her husband. After moving to Alliance, she taught preschool in Alliance, substituted for 5 years for Alliance Public Schools, and is now making her first appearance as a high school teacher in the Bulldog Achieve Center here in Alliance. Mrs. Thacker said “she loved the students and surroundings”. She feels like she could make the biggest difference with the job she has at the school now.
