As the year comes to an end we look back at all the things we have done or bought, or in this case, played. These are my top 5 games of 2013.

Starting off is the PS3 exclusive “The Last Of Us”, which puts you in the shoes of Joel, a man who lost everything when a virus first appeared, and pairs you with the quirky and sarcastic Ellie, who is immune to the virus. The story revolves around Joel getting Ellie to a lab on the eastern coast so that scientists can extract the cure from Ellie and prevent the spread of the virus. With amazing graphics and an incredibly gripping storyline, “The Last Of Us” deserves its place in this list.

Up next is “Bioshock: Infinite,” on all consoles and PC. Being a prequel of the series, “Infinite” takes place in a new location not under the sea, but in a city located in the clouds called Columbia. You play as a rather down to earth character named Booker Dewitt, who was sent to the floating city to find a girl named Elizabeth so he could repay the large debt he created through gambling. With an amazing storyline involving trans-dimensional travel and quantum physics along with a few brand new mechanics, “Bioshock: Infinite” is definitely a game worth buying and playing through.

What would this list be without “Grand Theft Auto V?” Being one of the most anticipated games of 2013; it has a new story, characters, and city. You take control as one of three criminals and go on various missions to make a quick buck and take what you want. New mechanics also give the game a much more enjoyable playing experience and giving it this spot on the list.

A counter part to “GTA V” is “Saints Row IV,” and is even more outrageous than the first three games in both storyline and gameplay. Taking place in the future your character has become the President of the United States, and shortly after your rise to power, the earth is attacked by aliens and its up to you to stop it. With added features such as superpowers and new side missions, “Saints Row IV” will keep you entertained for hours and deserves a place on this list.

If you like DC comic book heroes and old school fighting games then “Injustice: Gods Among Us” is the game for you. From the makers of the new “Mortal Kombat” game, “Injustice” has everything you could want: violence, gore, and a storyline based around an evil Superman. With the feeling of retro fighting games mixed with new graphics and a collection of unique characters, “Injustice” is a game that is worth the money and time you spend playing it.

If you are going through this list and saying to yourself, “Wow! these games sound amazing!” then my job is done and I have shown you what games you should check out. Happy New Year everyone!
