Two Local Girls Crowned in the Miss Outstanding Teen Pageant

This past Saturday, six young ladies competed in the Miss Alliance’s/ Miss Panhandle’s Outstanding Teen pageant. These young ladies include Shaniah Freeseman of Gordon, BreaHanna Harlow of Broadwater, Alexis McGlone of Mitchell, Aubree Noble of Chadron, Merrilee Prill of Kearney, and Cherokee Purviance of Alliance. The Outstanding Teen Pageant is associated with the Nebraska Outstanding Teen pageant and the Miss America Organization.

The Miss America Organization is designed to promote healthy living, academic success, community involvement and creative accomplishment. The contestants were judged on talent, sportswear, evening wear, on-stage question and an interview with the judges.

The title holders of the Miss Alliance’s and Miss Panhandle’s Outstanding Teen tiles will compete in North Platte this June for the Miss Nebraska Outstanding Teen title. The title holder of the state pageant will continue on to compete for the Miss America Outstanding Teen title.

Also during the pageant, girls ages eight to eleven competed for three titles. These titles and their title holder’s include Jamie Chen Little Miss Panhandle’s Outstanding Teen, Aspen Graves Little Miss Sandhill’s Outstanding Teen, and Chloe Blumanthal Little Miss Alliance’s Outstanding Teen. Miss Congeniality went to Jamie Chen. The runners up were Kylie Casados, Leyton Schnell and Sydney Allard. The Little Miss contestants were judged on an introduction to the judges, opening number, an on-stage question, and overall poise and personality. The Little Miss pageant was created to help interest young girls in competing when they get older. It was also created as a fundraiser for the Miss Outstanding Teen pageant.

The winner of the Miss Alliance’s Outstanding Teen title went to BreaHanna Harlow of Broadwater. The winner of Miss Panhandle’s Outstanding Teen went to Alexis McGlone. Other awards such as People’s Choice, Miss Congeniality, overall interview, overall talent and a community service were given. BreaHanna Harlow received the People’s Choice award. The community service award went to Merrilee Prill of Kearney. There was a tie for Miss Congeniality between Cherokee Purviance of Alliance and Aubree Noble of Chadron. Overall interview went to Alexis McGlone of Mitchell and overall talent went to BreHanna Harlow of Broadwater. Second runner up went to Cherokee Purviance and first runner up went to Merrilee Prill.
