It is that time of year that every theatre nerd can’t wait for: musical season. Every April, the Alliance High School theatre department puts on a spring musical. This year’s selection is The Addams Family. With a full cast and grim jokes, the students are enjoying their practices as they are excited to debut their show.

There are seven seniors for this year’s cast along with nine freshmen or new members. The cast includes:

Gomez Addams, played by senior and four-year member Tristan Bleisch, is a father and husband, who opens the show with the history of the Addams family. Throughout the show, Gomez finds himself in a predicament between pleasing his wife or his daughter.

Morticia Addams, portrayed by senior and four-year member Brielle Alwin, is a wife and mother who discovers there are secrets in her household, which breaks their number one rule. She must discover these secrets before they destroys her family.

Wednesday Addams, played by senior and four-year musical member Darian Wilson, daughter and sister, has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke. She must find the easiest way to break the news to her mother, before her father blows her secret.

Uncle Fester, played by junior and three-year member Caleb Garcia, is brother to Gomez who has also found love. He also prevents the ancestors from returning to the grave. While overcome by love and keeping the dead with the living, he must keep his sanity for this dinner party.

Pugsley Addams, portrayed by junior and three-year member Aubrey Garrett, son and brother, must bare the news of Wednesday finding love. He will go to all lengths to break the couple up before the night is over.

Grandma Addams, played by senior and two-year musical member Kat Kuzmic, is filled with tricks and trinkets. Besides keeping an eye on her pet rat, she must make sure Pugsley does not pull a stunt on Lucas.

Mal Beineke, portrayed by junior and first-year member Kel Underwood, is a father and husband who is hesitant to attending a dinner party. Considering himself a normal guy, the Addams are a little overbearing. Will this dinner create a marriage for his son, or break up his own?

Alice Beineke, portrayed by junior and three-year musical member Mareesa Buskirk,  mother and wife, is excited to meet new people. Though she is full of rhymes and cheerfulness, another side of Alice is revealed at the dinner.

Lucas Beineke, played by sophomore and two year-member Stephen Reid, is the son of Mal and Alice. He must make sure this dinner party goes smoothly before Lucas and Wednesday announce their engagement.

Lurch, played by sophomore and two-year member Jayden Moomey, is the butler for the Addams. He is a slow paced helper who rarely speaks. He will discover another side of himself as well.

The Addams Ancestors are portrayed by seniors, Laura Nieselers and Katelynne Minich; junior, Brianna Krebs; sophomores, Diana Kollars, Dante Lambrecht, and Calysta Trevino; and freshmen, Donna Lemunuyun, Owen Weber, Alaysha Engelhaupt, and McKenna Ruffing. The ancestors must help bring Lucas and Wednesday together.

The musical crew members are Camden Garcia, Katelyn Nunes, and Addison Lewis. They help with curtains, lights, and sounds.

This dark, humorous musical will surely keep you on the edge of your seat with the twists and turns of the plot. It not only is filled to the brim with musical interludes, but also with life altering moments. The Addams Family will be performed on April 11, 12, and 13 at seven in the evening in the PAC.
