AHS Participates in Winter Homecoming
This week, Alliance High School participated in “Winter Homecoming Week”. This week is not only fun and full of activities, but it is also an awesome way to promote school spirit.
Over the course of the week, students have gotten the privilege to participate in numerous activities such as blind volleyball, dress up days and, contests. The dress up days included pajama day, blue and white day, nerd day, camouflage day, and superhero day.
Honor roll students were also awarded for their hard work during this week. On Wednesday, all of the students who were on the honor roll from last semester, got to leave school early to attend the movie Nut Job. Students also received a free drink and popcorn.
During homecoming week, Student Council organized a blind volleyball tournament for the students and teachers to compete in. Blind volleyball is just like volleyball but curtains are placed over the net so the opponents can not see what each other are doing. This year, the championship match came down to “J Daddy and the Kids” and “The Dream Team”. At the beginning of the match, Mrs. Hiemstra served a few ace serves but “The Dream Team” sided out, giving “J Daddy and the Kids” momentum. After somewhat of a come back, “The Dream Team” got the ball. Ms. Cape served “The Dream Team”; to victory and ending the championship game at 15-4.
