Lights, camera, action! This past Friday and Saturday night the one act group preformed for the first time this year in front of an audience. The event took place at the Alliance High School in the Preforming Arts Center.  The play was called “Something’s Rotten in the State of Denmark.“ It’s a modern parody of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” The play tells the story of a prince who seeks revenge for the murder of his father, said director Mrs. Green. As a senior and having 4 years of experience, Roger Bunnell said that his favorite memory was his sophomore year when they got moved up from class B to class A. He then added, “When they called me up for an outstanding actor award, from that point, I knew that’s what I wanted to keep doing.”

This year, the One Act group is a group of very talented students with lots of motivation. The freshman this year are really setting the bar high and they are doing an awesome job with One Act. Ian Nelson said if the whole One Act group had to work on one thing he thinks it should be energy, he says, ”Everyone need to be on the same level of energy throughout the whole show.” He also said that he thinks it was a great performance and that they all did a good job.

The students who participate in One Act put in a lot of hard work and dedication to make an enjoyable show for anyone who wants to go. One Act is a great way for students to connect with other students who have the same interest. It’s a good way to possibly prepare students for a job in the acting field depending on what they decide to pursue later in life. Last year, the One Act performers did such an awesome job they went to state and came home with a big 1st place trophy. They hope they can do the same this year, and bring home another trophy.
