For the next four weeks Alliance High School students are gathering food to fill the shelves of the local food pantry.
Each student is asked to bring a non-perishable item to donate to the local food bank. The drive began this past Monday, October 22,and will end the week of Monday, November 12. The students are to collect their items and bring them to their advisory class. The advisory class that collects the most items at the end of the four weeks wins a pizza party for their group.
Each week, students are to bring a different item. The week of October 22 students are asked to bring a plastic container of peanut butter or jelly that is 18 ounces or less. The week of October 29 the school will be collecting containers of Easy Macaroni and Cheese. The next week, November 5, the students are to bring crackers and the following week, November 12, boxes of cereal will be collected.
With a school filled with 500 students and a staff of almost 80, Principal Dr. Pat Jones believes AHS should collecting many different items in the next four weeks and doing a great deal of good for the community. Good luck to all advisory classes and students. Don’t forget to bring your items to help AHS fill the shelters of the local food bank.
