Schoeneman Signs With Northeastern

Rachel Schoeneman is a senior at Alliance High School who is achieving her dreams one step at a time. Rachel played one year of volleyball, and two years of tennis, but Rachel has decided to go to college playing softball.

Schoeneman has accepted to go to Northeastern Junior College. “If seemed like a good fit,” Schoeneman says, “I’m really excited, and I’ve been dreaming of this since I started playing.” Rachel has played for two years on varsity, also starting two years on the varsity team. Rachel has accepted her primary position at Northwestern as 1st base. She has also accepted to play outfield, mostly left fielder.

In 2012, Rachel received Honorable Mention All-Conference and Honorable Mention All- Region. In 2013, she received the 1st Team All-Conference and the 2nd Team All- Region. She was awarded the 2013 MVP. Rachel has hit two home runs, one in 2012 and 2013. Rachel had a batting average in the year 2013 of 43%. In 2012, her batting average was 51%.

Schoeneman would like to contribute her success to her parents and coaches, “They’ve helped me through it all.” Coach Scott Mills and Coach Anita James had a lot of nice things to say about Rachel. Mills says Rachel is the tallest player and is self -motivated. James says that Rachel is a great worker and leader. “She said the day that she started that she would play college ball,” says Coach Mills. Both Coaches agree that Rachel will go to Northwestern and make an impact.
