District track was underway in Scottsbluff on May 9 and the Alliance varsity track team did quite well. Senior Mitch Pancost qualified for four events: the long jump, the 2oo meter dash, the 4×400 meter relay, and the 4×100 meter relay. The 4×4 team was five-tenths of a second off of the school record. The 4×4 team consisted of Pancost, Sophomore Cody Robinson, Senior Keagan Hill, and Junior Gaige Lehl. Pancost said, “ I thought the team did very well, and I think we can compete at state.”
Trevor Kamerzell qualified in the 110-meter hurdles, the 300-meter hurdles, and the 4×1 relay, with Hill, Pancost, and Junior Jason Berguland. The 4×8 relay team, with Lehl, Hill, Sophomore D.J Weare, and Junior Ryan Romick also qualified for State in the 4×800 meter relay and Senior Nick Smith qualified in the pole vault. State Track is in Omaha on Saturday, May 18. Coach Spargo said,” I think we competed very well and I’m hoping to do good at State.
