There has been news of a few cases of the Coronavirus in the United States. This has freaked a lot of people out, but why? Well, the Coronavirus is a virus that can affect any RNA group from animals to humans. It causes respiratory problems, and it can even kill you if it is not properly taken care of immediately. The symptoms show up after fourteen days of exposure to the virus. 361 people have died of the Coronavirus, and there are eleven confirmed cases in the United States.

There are different kinds of Coronaviruses. Some are mild and only include colds and respiratory illnesses, but other kinds of the Coronavirus are very serious and can cause very serious respiratory syndromes such as the SARS and the MERS, which is usually caused in the Middle East. What made the Coronavirus spread from animals to humans so quickly?

The first case of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus was in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China and the death toll is continuing to accelerate with a number of 564 entering its third week. The virus was initially traced in a seafood market also known as a “Wet market” in Wuhan, China. According to npr.com “Researchers believe the new virus probably mutated from a Coronavirus common in animals and jumped over to humans in the Wuhan bazaar.”

The 2019 Novel Coronavirus first entered the United States when a man in his thirties from Snohomish County, Washington State was diagnosed with the Coronavirus. In an article with buzzfeednews.com, it stated that “ “It doesn’t take much for a virus in general to go from being worrisome to being extremely worrisome, because they tend to morph and mutate a lot,” said Messonnier last Friday during an update for reporters, where she had predicted a US case. ”

The possibility of you getting the Coronavirus is rare, but there’s always a chance.
