Tis the season to be jolly! It’s December, and with December comes Christmas and of course movies! Although there are plenty of Christmas movies you’ve seen every December on TV, if you want a change check out these picks!

The Pyramid- December 5

Since the early 1800s, explorers and their team have suffered a fatal curse when they disturb a pyramid in Egypt. A team of U.S. archaeologists gets more than they bargained for when they discover a lost pyramid unlike any other in the Egyptian desert. They soon realize that they aren’t just trapped; they are being hunted.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies- December 17

The final chapter of the story for Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield, and the Company of Dwarves is finally here. After finally claiming their land from the Dragon Smaug, they realize that they’ve unleashed a terrifying and deadly force. Bilbo and Company is forced to engage in war against the evil force and keep Smaug from acquiring a kingdom treasure and obliterating all of Middle-Earth.

Annie- December 19

Everyone has heard of the original redheaded, curly haired little orphan, Annie, but this year here comes a new Annie. Annie is a young, wild–haired, happy foster kid who is tough enough to take the streets of New York. Left when she was a baby, and having to deal with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan, Annie yearns for a way out. Soon everything changes when a mayoral candidate, Will Stacks, has a campaign plan, made by his VP and campaign advisor, and takes Annie in. Stacks believes he is the guardian angel she needs, but her shining personality might just mean it’s the other way around.

Into the Woods- December 31

A modern and dark twist on several of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales, Into the Woods intertwines the characters paths along with looking at the consequences of wishes and quests. This includes Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel coming together with a baker and his wife. Their wish to begin a family comes with a price, the witch who granted them this put a curse on them. We see the faces of Anna Kendrick, Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep, Chris Pine along with many others.
