Finally, the 2014-year has begun. The times are changing at it’s own pace, with unusual trends in music, and I believe things will be stranger in 2014. The music is rumored to be incredible this year, with some albums that are already highly anticipated. This year’s music will be interesting, especially with the popular new artists from the 2013 year. More upcoming artists will appear heavily, and not all will be enjoyed. The music will be unique, as all sorts of genres in music are getting more experimental and catchy in an electronic way.

Switchfoot, Fading West, January 14^th

            “Fading West” is the upcoming ninth studio album by the alternative rock band Switchfoot. The album is known for two singles, “Who We Are,” and “Love Alone is Worth the Fight,” which were released in September of 2013. During their first concert of the “Fading West Tour,” a small “Fading West” documentary was shown.

Step Brothers (The Alchemist and Evidence), Lord Steppington, January 21^st

            This is my most anticipated project for January. Evidence is an experienced MC from Los Angeles California. The Alchemist is one of the best beat producers in Hip Hop. His style is catchable for anybody who listens to his music, and most artists respect him. The album will be released from Rhymesayers Entertainment; a highly lyrical Hip Hop label ran by the Hip Hop group, Atmosphere. The album will feature artists like Action Bronson and Domo Genesis.

            The month of January is usually slow in Music. February will have a larger set of Albums, and as the time progresses, the busiest months for music are usually April through September. Music may be slow for now, but it will keep getting better, and I am sure that the 2014 year will be great because many of the hyped artists will release projects later in the year.
