Reading in Students

Reading+in+Students

Through research, it has become apparent that students who read in their free time or for fun have better language skills. It has also been seen that students who read books purely for school have shown a lack of interest in reading voluntarily.

High school students sometimes find it hard to find the time to read. This can be due to school activities or work. There is also the factor that some kids can not sit down long enough to read a book. There is nothing wrong with that but from my personal experience, I have found that it is nice to sit and read when I have time. Depending on the book I can get so invested with how descriptive the voice of the story or novel is that I can imagine it almost as though it were real.

Even though sometimes we have trouble getting interested or finding time to read a book there is always a way to find time and good books to read. And if you are struggling to find a good book you can always ask a teacher or a fellow student for a good book recommendation. Some recommendations would be books by James Paterson or This is Where it Ends by Marieke Nijkamp and A Child Called “It” by Dave Pelzer.

Though it can be hard to find time to read books there is the option to listen to them online or through apps. There are many apps and websites that have the option to read and listen to books, some of these are Goodreads, LibriVox, Spotify and a site offered by the school at soraapp.com.
