Freedom To All

Freedom+To+All

African American History Month is an important time of the year in which the African American race is honored for the countless lives who served and the interminable tribulations they dealt with throughout history. As the majority of our nation, their suffering and forced labor has thankfully ended, and what’s left of the majority or their hardships is pure freedom and individualized rights. Since the 1970’s, this holiday has been annually celebrated throughout the second month of each year in the United states as well as the United Kingdom.

Like our founding fathers, African Americans have fought for equal rights for as long as we can remember. In fact, during the Civil Rights era of 1968, Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, Andrew Goodman and so many others all risked their lives in the fight for equality amongst humanity.

Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the strongest workers for civil rights movements of his race. As a member of the executive committee of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (the leading organization of its kind in the nation), Mr. King produced a multitude of inspirational and motivational speeches to the public based on the equal treatment of all man, no matter the color. His most famous speech, delivered during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, ‘I Have a Dream’ describes his dreams of freedom and equality arising from a land of slavery and hatred.

As unfortunate as it is to admit, our country continues to face racism today. African American History month is a way to show the world that countries should not be ran by a certain race. Everyone deserves to be free regardless of skin color or status.
