April Fools Day

April Fools Day

Last Tuesday, on the first day of April was April Fools Day.  April Fools Day is supposed to be a fun, joking day for people, however it wasn’t a great day at Virginia College in South Carolina. Angela Timmons, 54, an employee at Virginia College was arrested on April 1, after calling her daughter in New York, and telling her that there was shooting going on in the College, as an April Fools prank.

Her daughter, April Timmons, called 911 and several policemen rushed to the college prepared for the scene. The situation was very serious because the cops wouldn’t let any student or employee go inside the building.

Police soon found that nothing was wrong at Virginia College, and Timmons soon admitted that it was just a joke and called her daughter so she could tell her.

The cops were not every happy and didn’t think it was a laughing matter.

“Text someone and tell them their tire’s flat, that’s funny,” a police officer told an NBC affiliate. “We’re talking about death. It’s real. The people of Sandy Hook, when they see this online, they’re not going to think it’s very funny. I don’t think it’s very funny”.

Students were very shocked when they found out what she had done and said that they didn’t think she was doing it in a bad way since she has always been a very nice and friendly woman.

Timmons was charged with one count of aggravated breach of peace, one count of disturbing a school and two counts of unlawful use of a telephone. She was released from jail on Tuesday night and apologized to her daughter, the college where she works, and to the judge.
