The Alliance High track team competed at the Buffalo Bill Invite in North Platte last Thursday, March 28. The boys’ team placed fourth with 74 points, and the girls’ placed tenth with 4 points.
AHS senior Mitch Pancost picked up wins in the 200m dash with a 22.5, and the long jump with a jump of 22-01.75. The boys’ 4×400 of senior Keagan Hill, sophomore Cody Robinson, junior Gaige Lehl, and Pancost also garnered their third victory of the season running the relay in 3:28.1. The 4×800 relay team of juniors Kolton Dubs, Ryan Romick, and Lehl, and sophomore DJ Weare who finished with a 8:55.28 for second place. A third place finish was the 4×100 relay team of Trevor Kamerzell, Hill, Pancost, and Robinson who clocked in a 45.14.
Individually, Trevor Kamerzell garnered two top-5 finishes with a second place medal in the 110 hurdles and a 4th place finish in the 300 hurdles.
As for the girls, AHS junior Rylee Trout racked up the only medals for Alliance with a fourth place finish in the 200m with a time of 27.94, and a 100m hurdles with a time of 17.61.
The next track invite for the Bulldogs was originally scheduled for this Saturday, however, because the snowstorm the event has been rescheduled to an unknown date. The next event on the track calendar is the Scottsbluff Twilight on Friday April 19.
