How to keep moth’s out from your home

How+to+keep+moths+out+from+your+home

The Cutworm Moth is a moth species that comes in massive hordes and leaves eggs all over Nebraska in sparsely vegetated fields, plus warm and cold conditions. Another moth species most prominent in the Nebraska region is the Spring Miller Moth, mainly seen in the spring season here. These moth species are seen more around buildings, under bridges, and in open fields with little vegetation. These species are primarily found in flocks or bunched together in hordes.

The best way to combat these hordes is to seal all cracks, open surfaces and inspect windows. Your windows, doors, and vents should have screens on or in them to prevent the moths from getting into your household. The less light you use around your house, the less these species would come to your household. This technique also allows you to reduce your carbon footprint and help with power bills. Use door sweeps to block off the bottom of your doors to hide gaps When it is time to shut your doors and windows. These times are primarily found in the evenings when the moths are more active. Do not use insecticides on adult-size moths, as these won’t work well. Plus, you can use a heat lamp above a bowl of soapy water to make a simple trap. To dispose of them, just toss them outside and reset the trap. This information tells you how to stop these moths from invading your home.
