‘All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them’. This quote came from the famous American creator and producer of a series of full-length animated films, Walt Disney.

Disney was a dreamer. His mind was filled with astounding ideas and vibrant imaginations. He developed a bright way of thinking that left him a subject to happiness on earth and his creativity influenced him to share his artistry with the world. Disney’s dreams brought his stories to life. Today, his tremendous amount of faith and dedication leads a perfect example to the world.

Everyone has a story; everyone has a dream. Walt Disney’s dream was finding a way to make the world a happier, more enjoyable place, as do millions of others. The only difference? Disney did all he truly could to engage in his dreams.

As a child, I too was filled with many dreams. The majority of them were silly and temporary, but the one that never changed; the only gift I have ever wanted to truly fulfill, is to produce my own music.

My mother plays a significant role in this dream, as she has always urged me to keep hold of my aspirations and enjoy life as much as I possibly can. Her guiding light aided me in realizing what I truly wanted out of life.

This year I was given the opportunity to act on my dream. I traveled all the way to Las Vegas for a thrilling experience at an audition for the television series known as ‘America’s Got Talent.’I had never been more excited in my entire life than during this trip and the adventure alone was both beautiful and stressful all at once. I witnessed hundreds of people with their own unique gifts and dreams, who shared these talents with the producers and each other.

During this extraordinary escapade, I gained a new perspective. I found that the world is filled with billions of remarkable individuals, each embracing their own exceptional talents. As the wise words of Walt Disney,

‘A dream is a wish your heart makes when you’re fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartaches. Whatever you wish for, you keep. Have faith in your dreams, and someday, your rainbow will come smiling through. No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true.’

Even though I do not know how my audition will end up; the judges will not finalize their decisions until the end of February,  I can guarantee I will continue to believe and hold onto my dreams regardless of the results.
