Last Thursday, September 11, 2014 the Alliance High School gym was filled with excitement from family, friends, classmates and athletes supporting the 2014 homecoming. Coronation at Alliance High School the night was full of laughter, claps, and chants. Coronation is held in the High Schools gym where the homecoming royalty is announced, watch our cheerleaders dance to the beat of the band, laugh at the dance that the Mr. Cheerleaders put together, and the night is finished with the burning of the “A”.

To start off the night, the Alliance High Cheerleaders danced to the school song played by the band. The Cheerleaders then pumped up the crowd with cheers and then showcased the dance that they received first place at cheer camp this summer. Mr. Cheerleader is a tradition at Alliance High that has become a tradition for many years. It’s where boys from AHS get signed up by classmates to perform a dance at coronation. The judges in the crowd vote on who gets “Best jump” this year received by James Long, “Miss Sunshine” was given to Will Grant, “Miss Drama Queen” was given to Cody Robinson and the 2014 Mr. Cheerleader was Collin Cox.

All through homecoming week, AHS students voted for homecoming royalty. For each class there are three girls and three boys that are nominated to win. In the freshmen class the girl candidates were Haley Hoxworth, Anna Schoeneman, and Shae Tooth. The freshmen boy candidates were Lane Applegarth, Dylan Hickox and Jorgen Johnson.
