Financial Aid Night

Financial+Aid+Night

It’s that time of year when students and families are getting stressed as they worry about how they are going to pay for college. On January 7th, 2014, at 5:30 p.m., financial aid night was held at the high school for Juniors and Seniors who have plans of continuing their education at college. At financial aid night, the FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) was broken down and questions that students and parents had were answered. The FAFSA is very critical for students to fill out, as it helps students that have financial need, by giving them student loans based on need and qualifications. Lynette Hillyer a Senior at Alliance High School said she found financial aid night “very helpful.”

By filling out the FAFSA you can submit it to other scholarship and grant programs to help you receive more money. The representative that came to talk about the FAFSA talked about Nebraska based scholarships, and how to search for scholarships online, he also mentioned you can ask a school guidance counselor for help. The FAFSA can be filled out and submitted online by going to https://fafsa.ed.gov/ . The FAFSA should be filled out after you or your parents get their taxes for 2014 done. On February 14th 2014 there will be a representative at the high school to help students fill out their financial aid form by appointment.
