AHS Volleyball Gaining Momentum
After a rough 0-6 start to begin the 2013 season for the AHS volleyball team, the squad has finally started to jell as a team. The team has won three of their last four games including a dramatic win Tuesday night against the Kimball Longhorns.
The match began with the Bulldogs taking the first two sets 25-22 and 25-12. The Longhorns, however, would not concede there as they took the third set 25-18. The fourth set was very intense; both teams were into the thirties before Kimball grasped the set 32-30 to force the match into the deciding fifth set.
The fifth set proved to be all Bulldogs as they took it 15-8. They won the match, and their third victory of the season.
AHS junior Kennedy Cyza finished with a fantastic 21-kill game, and senior Gabby Conley put up double digits in that category as well, finishing with 12.
The Bulldogs will next travel to the Holdrege Invite this Saturday beginning at 9am CDT. While the junior varsity girls, who also picked up a win against Kimball, will play in Scottsbluff this Saturday beginning at 10am.
