The AHS football team played in their annual Homecoming game this past Friday night against the undefeated Scottsbuff Bearcats. The Bulldogs put up a disposed effort in the first half to tie the game at 21-21 going into halftime, but the Bearcats were too much to handle for the Bulldogs and they went on to win 49-33 and remain undefeated while the Bulldogs fell to 5-3 on their season.
Along with Friday’s game being Homecoming, it was also Senior Night for the senior players and their parents. The seniors on the team were recognized before the game, as this would be the last time they would play a regular season football game on their home turf. Senior players, Isaac Burnham, Mitch Pancost, Tyson Dowler, Nick Smith and Gurpreet Singh contributed with touchdowns and big plays; senior linemen Anthony Beal, Sergio Airada, Ethan Hart, and Matt Loutzenhiser contributed with big blocking up front.
The next, and final, regular season game for the Bulldogs will be against the Gering Bulldogs. Kickoff is set to begin at 7 p.m. in Gering.
