One Act Districts

One+Act+Districts

The Alliance One Act team has put a lot of effort into their play. Countless hours of hard work has been spent to make sure everything runs smoothly and is polished. Now, they can show it off for One Act districts. Districts is now in Gothenburg, which is unexpected for Alliance because it will be their first time staying over at another town for One Act. Everyone is excited and happy to go and show off what they worked hard on.

In an interview with Ayvrie Waldron she stated,” I 100% think we improved from the previous year. With Mr. Behrends’s first year directing, and all of the students getting used to his teaching style, I think it was good to have a year where we could kind of dip our toes into the world of One Act. This year, I think we did absolutely incredible as a team. We have an amazing group of crew and the Best Male Actor, Mario Rodriguez of the Western Conference. I cannot wait to see how we will continue to improve each year.”

Ryleigh Mashburn says,” I enjoy performing”. She has been performing since her freshmen year and plans to continue to perform. She loved the role she was given and was very happy to go to districts.

Overall, the One Act team did amazing. They gave their absolute best and really improved from when they first started. Our new coach, Mrs. Soriano, did especially well with helping them despite it being her first year. They only strive for improvement for the next year. Everyone is excited to see what they do next year. Great job one act team!

Her favorite games to play are Left 4 Dead 2, Minecraft, and Call of Duty. She likes these games because of how competitive they are and the way it channels her anger. Her favorite music artists to listen to are Lana Del Ray, Mitski, TV Girl, Slipknot, and Peso Pluma because she loves the meaning they put out. Brooklynn’s favorite animals include capybaras and African rain frogs, she said she likes them because “Capybaras are big rodents and rain frogs have tiny little butts”. She also hopes to go into child psychology because she doesn’t want kids going through emotional breaks. She wants to understand them and help fix their mental thinking of life. More into Brooklynn’s school and personal life, she joined the middle school band in 6th grade because she wanted to try a new hobby. She started playing clarinet and learning some saxophone. Then the summer going into sophomore year, Brooklynn became an aunt to her niece Soraiyah.
