Upcoming Music: April 2017

The rainy month is here and the earth is getting greener with the coming of spring. Music lovers are cranking their stereos as they cruise down Box Butte, making sure everyone hears their love for the warmer weather. Snow turns to rain and everything comes back to life for the start of a new summer. This month, artists like Young Dolph, 2 Chainz, The Chainsmokers, Falling in Reverse, Pentatonix, Sheryl Crow, David Bowie, and many more will kick it off and leave us all in awe.

The Fate of the Furious: The Album
For the fans of The Fast and The Furious movies, this album is all for you. With the coming of the eighth   installment of the Fast and Furious movies, The Fate of the Furious, Atlantic Records will be releasing an album with all of the songs that will be included in the movie. The album and the movie, will be released on April 14, 2017 and will feature songs from 2 Chainz, Camila Cabello, Pitbull, J Balvin, 21 Savage, Lil Yatchy, and many others. The album will consist of 14 total songs, produced by over 20 artists. Even after the untimely death of Paul Walker back in 2013, the newest movie and album will undoubtedly be one of highest selling albums and movies this year as they have grown in popularity over the past 16 years of filming.

Falling in Reverse’s fourth studio album: Coming Home
The American rock band, Falling in Reverse, is set to be releasing their newest Album, Coming Home, on April 7, 2017, through their label Epitaph. Band members, Ronnie Eadke, Derek Jones, Ryan Seaman, Zakk Sandler, and Christian Thompson announced on January 6, 2016 that a new album was under way. The band stated, “it’s a huge left turn. It sounds like nothing we’ve ever done. Every song is very vibey. There’s more feeling in it instead of a lot of metal.” The band went on to explain how they are challenging themselves with this album as they are going stray from their native sound that fans have craved over the past nine years. This album compared to their last, Just Like You, will focus more on sticking to a single theme instead of having multiple clashed into one. “Coming Home”, “Loser”, and “Broken” have all been previously released and will be included on the album along with eight other singles.

The Chainsmokers upcoming debut album: Memories…Do Not Open
The American DJ duo we have come to know and love are returning with more stereo blaring music. The producers or two members of The Chainsmokers, Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall, have scheduled to release an upcoming debut album, Memories…Do Not Open, on April 7, 2017. The Chainsmokers have always been a popular duo, but over the last year, their fame has skyrocketed. Their songs have been repeated on every radio station and stuck in every teenagers head 24/7. The album will consist of nine unheard songs and the three pre-released singles “The One”, “Paris”, and “Something Just Like This” featuring Coldplay. The Chainsmokers have done some of their own promotion pumping fans for the release of their album, but Chris Martin, co-creator of the British band, Coldplay, tweeted about the album, hoping to get confirmation on the release from The Chainsmokers. During the Grammy red carpet interviews, the duo released the name and release date of their long awaited album.

On April 19, juniors here at Alliance High School are scheduled to take the test that will determine their future education. The SPUD wishes every junior here in Alliance the best of luck in facing the dreaded ACT. I encourage you to plug in your music and take a breather from all of the stress, and be sure to kill it in the ACT.
