We’re entering 2017 with a slow month in gaming. No major games are making their debut, until the second week of the month. However, several developers are releasing long-anticipated sequels to popular games.

Gravity Rush 2 (PS4): January 20th

The reconstruction of the city of Hekseville is taking place after a former incident, caused by former mayor D’nelica. This causes a strange disturbance in gravity. Taking place where the first game, Gravity Rush, left off, main characters, Kat and Raven, return. Kat, the gravity princess, begins an investigation with Raven and a new character, Syd, who is a police officer. The area is hit by a gravity storm on an unprecedented scale, causing the three to be sucked into a gravitational whirlpool. The three arrive in a strange mining settlement, known as Banga village. Director, Keiichiro Toyama, stresses immersion with Gravity Rush 2. Toyama says the key to this is expanding the universe and making Kat and her surroundings feel more alive. For example, the new city in the game is more lively and colorful, and Kat will be able to chat with the city’s inhabitants, throw gang signs, and people will react organically. Environments will be destructible.
