Video games are on the verge of controlling the arts. As music and film directing has advanced over the years, video games have grown at the same rate, but by tens fold. It all started when some curious television pioneer named Thomas T. Goldsmith Jr. thought of an idea of having complete control over technology in a form like a film. It was definitely outside of the box, something almost extra terrestrial. But what he did changed the lives of billions of people. Video games have sprung just as much criticism as it did pure astonishment. Who would’ve thought something as incredible as complete human control over a television screen could get even crazier? Video games are much larger than just art. They can express emotions of any kind. It’s almost like a peaceful simulator for those who are angry at life, or maybe the complete opposite. It usually takes twenty million dollars or more to create an incredible best selling game, with large studios such as Bethesda and Ubisoft, but artists of the gaming realm have even thought of ways to outsmart that system. Gaming is unpredictable because creative geniuses are beginning to build their own engines, redefining the history of art. These certain geniuses deserve more credit, and as games progress, they’ll be remembered for redefining the arts.
