Created by Deep Silver and Volition, the fourth installment of the Saints Row series hit the shelves on August 20, and continues the storyline of the street gang called the Third Street Saints and their rise to power. The game features a fully customizable character; perfect for players who want to literally put themselves in the game, create the perfect clone of a celebrity, or just make the weirdest person imaginable. The storyline takes place 7 years after the events in Saints Row the Third, and in those 7 years the Saints went from international celebrities to leaders of the free world, and shortly after becoming the President of the United States an alien invasion occurs causing panic but, like in true Saints Row fashion, you take up arms and battle the invasion of Zin.

After defeating wave after wave of aliens you finally come face to face with the leader of the alien threat, Zinyak, who informs you that he is taking all intelligent or dangerous people off the planet so they can’t pose a threat to his plans. After a brief fight with the Zin leader you awake to find that you are in a stereotypical 50’s town where profanity, among other things, are not allowed. While progressing through the mission you start to feel that something isn’t right, and as you reach the objective you discover that you’re in a simulation based on your worst fears, in this case having no power. You quickly look for an escape with the help of your friend Kinzie, an expert hacker, but get stopped by a super powered cop. After defeating the super cop you wake up, again, on the Zin mother ship and fight your way through the ship to find the control room. Finally reaching the control room you come face to face with Zinyak once again and rather than kill you on the spot he throws you back into the simulation where the Saints are the same nobodies they were back in Stillwater (Saints Row and Saints Row 2).

While exploring the simulation you discover that things are not as bad as they seem when your friend Kinzie is hacking the simulation and giving you superpowers, unbelievable weapons such as the Dubstep gun, the black hole gun, and the energy sword, and putting your crew in the simulation.

While having all these powers and weapons does make the game more enjoyable but, it also makes it seem like someone is holding your hand the entire way making the game feel to easy and will ultimately cut into the campaign progression. With endless fun, outrages weapons, and epic story this game is definitely worth the $60 you will be paying to own this amazing game and definitely deserves a 7.5 out of 10.
