‘This Means War’ is a simple enough concept. Two spies fall for the same woman and some spy vs. spy action ensues. With an all-star cast—Chris Pine (‘Star Trek’), Tom Hardy (‘Warrior’), and Reese Witherspoon (‘Walk the Line’)—the movie had a lot of promise. The film is sort of an action/comedy/romance hybrid, which will have you starry-eyed, at first. After a while the luster wears off, though. A combination of the implausible storyline and poorly crafted ending leave much to be desired. ‘This Means War’ is worth watching once, but it won’t be a film that will stick with you.
