Ms. Smith

Katelyn Heisler, Staff Writer

As this is the last year of the amazing teachings from Ms. Smith, one of the most considerate teachers you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting. Here is some information about her. After high school, she attended Black Hills State University for a solid 4 consecutive years. It wasn’t until her sophomore year of college that she had decided to be a teacher. After that, she attended Chadron State College for two master’s degrees. This will be her 32nd year of teaching. During her 32 years of teaching, she has loved working with students and watching them “get” a concept of what they are there to learn. She absolutely adores helping kids figure out who they truly are, encouraging them to be comfortable in her classroom, and to simply be themselves. One of the hardest things she has seen whilst teaching is her students struggle with their mental health, which is a reason she is so thankful that the school offers her 8 to Great class. She is the teacher no one could ever hate. Everyone will miss you Ms. Smith! It’s a shame that you’re retiring, but you deserve the world, and we only wish you the very best!
