Mrs. Tearza Mashburn is currently the academic advisor for the Upward Bound program. She has lived in Alliance for 16 years. She says “being able to teach students life skills, help them believe in themselves, and give them avenues to reach their goals” is the best part about her job.

Mrs. Mashburn graduated high school in 1997 from Atkinson West Holt. She later went to Chadron State College, getting her degree in Bachelor of Science in Education.

Outside of school, she is happily married to Matt Mashburn. She has two kids, a daughter who is 10, and a son who is 5. Her two kids keep her busy outside of school.
