April’s To Be Released – Music
April has arrived, the month where music begins to expand into an unpredictable territory. Colorful experimental sounds occur from different artists that arrive from out of nowhere, and there are typical artists, following genres and sometimes-even trends. Either way, music is the universal language. It defines a person’s specific emotion and it puts people together. The 2014-year is at the point where music will expand in different directions and many people will be hearing new sounds.
Mac Demarco, Salad Days, April 1st
Mac Demarco is a complete weirdo. His music videos are strange and some are even hard to watch. His style is unique and he always maintains a specific balance with his music, creating a backwoods sounding style that’s smooth but also very abnormal. He’s not for everybody, but despite his strange ways, his first album was a success. His second album, “Salad Days,” should be the same. The album has two singles, “Passing Out Pieces,” which was released on January 21, 2014, and “Brother,” which came out on March 6, 2014. The album has eleven tracks altogether and two bonus tracks. Mac Demarco is a talented artist, and he always accomplishes putting unique and good music out. “Salad Days” should be a great listen.
Black Label Society, Catacombs of the Black Vatican, April 8th
Zakk Wylde, a very talented multi dimensional artist, runs Black Label Society and one of the remaining actual rock stars of the modern generation. His guitar playing is electrifying and he always seems to put out good music. All tracks were written and composed by Zakk Wylde. As of now, “Catacombs of the Black Vatican” has one single that is called “My Dying Time.” The track was released on January 21, 2014.
Green Day, Demolicious, April 19th
Everybody knows about the punk rock group Green Day, and by now artists of all sorts respect them throughout the music industry. They’ve made catchy hit singles and great memorable albums. Their new album, “Demolicious,” should be great as well. The album is a collection of unreleased demos including a track that they recorded in 2012.
Future, Honest, April 22nd
Future is a hip-hop artist from the Kirkwood neighborhood in Atlanta Georgia. He released a few successful mixtapes in 2010 and 2011, eventually signing with Epic Records. His new album, “Honest,” is supported by a couple of singles, “Honest” and “Karate Chop.” “Honest” features guest appearances from Pharrell, Pusha T, Casino, Wiz Khalifa, Drake, Kanye West, Young Scooter, Andre 3000, and Lil Wayne.
The month of April is always a great time to release an album. Many artists do so, mainly because it is good for marketing, but as time progresses, better albums will be released. The 2014-year has put out some great projects so far, and many more will come in the following months.
