Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving where stores have tons of great deals. Almost anywhere you go, either online or in stores you can see the deals for each store popping up one by one. The question I have is: Is Black Friday really worth the fight?

Personally, I think that Black Friday shopping is worth it. Yes, there are a lot of bad things that happen on Black Friday, such as deaths from being ran over or trampled, but if you are careful and plan things out you could walk away with really good Christmas gifts for your friends and family.

Some people will stand in lines overnight in -10 degree cold, 110 degree heat, and even in storms just to buy a new TV. This can be very interesting since some people aren’t polite and will try to cut in line or  will do anything to get you to move from your spot.

Daisy Gomez, a junior, went Black Friday shopping and the craziest thing she saw was, “ The police came to a Walmart store and arrested someone trying to steal a microwave by putting it in their gym bag.” Daisy also mentioned how her aunt got a new smart tv for $250 instead of $600.

Collin Schrawyer, a junior,  also went Black Friday shopping he got “ Amazon echos for $24 a piece instead of $50 and a Ps4 for $199 instead of $299 or more.”

Another scary thing on Black Friday is the fights. Adults will literally get in fist fights just to get a TV or a pair of socks. I remember one time when I went Black Friday shopping in Florida and I was in Victoria’s Secret and found the last bra in my size. At the time I was around 12-13 and this lady ripped the bra from my hands. I managed to keep ahold of one of the straps, so I tugged back and with her full force she pulled it from me and the bra literally split in half. This is just one of the many crazy Black Friday stories you might have heard on the news.

Other people will attack the people who work the cash registers or the store workers. The workers are just doing their jobs but that sometimes doesn’t seem good enough for some customers. People should just be happy that they should be thankful that the stores are even open since some people have families they want to be with.

All in all, Black Friday can be a lot of fun if you are being smart but you should always be careful because you never know what could happen on this crazy day.
