The shooters name was not released but was put into custody and will face charges of assault with a deadly weapon and intent to kill. As Bernard Mille was sent to the hospital he later went into surgery for critical injuries. Albemarle High School classes were canceled for the rest of the day. It’s not determined if had school Wednesday, October 1, 2014.

Later in the afternoon on that same day a shooting also occurred in Kentucky. At Fern Creek High School in Louisville, a student sent to a nearby hospital for being shot suffered non-life threatening injuries. Law enforcement found the shooter walking distance from the school at an apartment complex later Tuesday evening. Law enforcement described the suspect as a 15 or 16-year-old boy not mentioning if he was enrolled at Fern Creek High School. The school was placed under lockdown, later escorted by the authorities.
