It is safe to say that FFA EDGE, A leadership development conference, was a success and you are probably wondering why. FFA EDGE was held in Bridgeport, NE on September 18th to teach new and returning FFA members proper etiquette and teamwork. FFA members were greeted by the Nebraska FFA Officers: Thomas Perrin, president; Alex Boudreau, secretary; Keetyn Valentine, vice president; Paige Bunn, vice president; Braydon Binger, vice president; Abby Hodges, vice president; and Bethany Nichols, vice president. These FFA Officers held 4 sessions where they showed proper etiquette, teamwork, and how to build your character.
Many schools attended EDGE including: Alliance, Minatare, Kimball and Chadron. A student from Minatare said “It’s pretty fun and is helping me learn how to be a better person!” When asked about what she liked about EDGE, Bethany Nichols said “It’s really cool to meet new people and teach them the things I love!” Another officer, Alex Boudreau said “I was made fun of as a kid, FFA was a way to express myself.” I personally found it fun and informational however I do hope in future years they make it more hands-on and exciting. Many other students found EDGE informational and helpful to their future and hope this teaches them to be better people and teammates!
