Bulldog Buddies

Bulldog Buddies is an excellent program. High school kids in small communities tend to downplay their influence as role models. How quickly we forget about those we looked up to in our youth and how we held them in such high esteem!! Giving elementary students the opportunity to not only watch, but participate in practice, and to be recognized at competitions. The team and kids have so much fun together, and is the spark needed to light that passionate fire that will hopefully continue to spread throughout their entire life. I’m looking forward to more opportunities for the team to interact with the elementary kids in the community. I have interviewed Benjamin Cassat-Reina, one of our wrestlers, to tell me what Bulldog Buddies mean to him;“What bulldog buddies mean to me is a bulldog buddy is where you get to show (under class-men) what you do in your sport, and in my case wrestling. It also is kind of a mentorship. Where I got to show my buddy what I do and get to show them step-by-step on moves. Why do I think bulldog buddies are a good thing? It’s good because you might spark an interest in your buddies’ eyes in the sport or club you are doing and if they had a positive experience they probably told their friends and got them to join them.” I believe that Bulldog Buddies is a great program and should be continued throughout the years!
