Final One Act Results, Back From Districts
The Alliance One Act performed last Saturday, December 3rd, at the District One Act competition, held at Sidney High School. Their play, Bad Auditions for Bad Actors, placed 8th receiving two superiors and one excellent.
The play was a charismatic performance about a casting director, portrayed by Elora Bleisch, that is desperately trying to find the perfect leads for the community play of Romeo and Juliet. The rest of the play follows the director as she goes through audition after audition, only to find that every actor had a terrible talent, and are probably psychotic, such as one actress that wanted chocolate covered Skittles. The play ends with all of the actors on stage and Elora announcing that the whole thing was just a dream. The actors made the audience members fall over laughing and left them wanting more.
Four of our actors received outstanding actors awards. Cherokee Purviance, Elora Bleisch, Julissa Gomez, and Trajan Garcia all received this award. The school is very proud of all of our actors, whether they received an award or not.
The play is one to go into the books of best performances. It was one that has made many people, including me, laugh out loud at the ridiculousness of the situation that was happening on stage. All in all, the One Act season was a success, no matter what the play received at districts.
