One Act Reminiscing A Comedy
Six years ago, the AHS one act performed Romeo You Idiot. This year, director Mrs. Green has selected the same play. Last time this play was preformed, AHS made it to state one acts. This year’s plan is to do the same. Mrs. Green, who has been the director for 10 years, said, “The cast and crew size has increased tremendously. It is awesome to see so many kids interested and participating in one act. I am really proud of how well everyone is doing in their roles and with the backstage assignments. We are looking forward to a great show!”
Romeo You Idiot is a parody of Romeo and Juliet. The main characters are still the same and the story line are still the same, but this version is modernized. The cast is looking to receive a laugh from every audience member every time it is performed. Trajan Garcia is portraying the roll of Romeo, while Julissa Gomez is portraying the roll of Juliet. There are many returning cast members, and tons of new faces from every grade. The amount of participation this year is unlike any other. There are the actors, the light and sound people, the costume helpers, the prop designers, and the director. “I have a very good feeling about this year. We have some great talent and have thrown together a very fun show. I hope to see as many people at our performances as possible!” lead, Trajan Garcia states.
The seniors in this year’s production include Andrew Ochoa, Jordan Mak, Tyler Wilson, Ian Montgomery, Beatrice Barzaghi, and Pablo Ballano. Their last show will surely be one to remember. The other lead actor, Julissa Gomez, states, “I believe we have improved a lot this year as a family. ‘Family’. That’s what we are! Romeo You Idiot will be a fun and enjoyable show! Hope to see you all there.”
